Diet Tips and Healthy Eating Habits

HEALTHY EATING HABITS

Following a diet or healthy eating habits is not as difficult as people imagine it to be. It is beneficial for both your physical body as well as emotional state. Your diet helps you to maintain a healthy weight and reduce the risk of chronic diseases. Even if you have a healthy weight, your negligence to provide your body a healthy diet will cause health problems, such as diabetes, high blood pressure, heart disease and also different types of cancer. They will also cause mental health problems such as Alzheimer’s disease.

But if you focus on eating healthy meals you will be feeding your body the nutrients it needs to stay strong, healthy and active.

Successful Diet and Eating healthy does not mean that you eliminate the food you eat completely. Start by small changes in your eating habits. As your eating habits change you add healthier choices to your diet.

Here are some great diet and healthy food and eating tips that you can start with:

  • Prepare your own meals. This helps you in knowing what goes inside your body. Whether it is healthy or not.
  • When eating be careful of your portions. If you eat two portions reduce it to one and a half. This will give your body time to adjust and in no time you will have a grip on your hands from taking another portion of food.
  • Try to gradually Cut down sugar, cakes, chocolates and snacks or make it to the minimum. Replace these snacks with healthier ones such as vegetables, peanut butter and fruit.
  • Reduce your intake of sugar. Reducing your intake of sugar a little at a time will give your taste buds time to adjust. Replace your sugary drinks with water or lemon juice.
  • Increase your intake of vegetables. Eating vegetables provides such nutrients and fibers which will maintain both your body and health. It is recommended to eat four cups of vegetables daily.
  • Eating a rich fruit diet helps your body to protect itself from diseases such as cancer. 2 cups of fruit is recommended to eat daily.
  • Get enough calcium in your diet because calcium helps to build your teeth, bones and regulate the rhythm of your heart. Dairy products such as cheese, milk and yogurt are rich in calcium.
  • Replace saturated fats with fats which can be found in fish, vegetable oil and nuts. Limit your intake to non-fat dairy products, lean meat and skinless poultry.
  • Drink plenty of water daily. Dehydration causes your body to tire easily as well as cause headaches. Water is essential as it helps to flush out toxins and waste products from your body. Also Water is amazing for your skin (Special tip for the ladies 😉 )
  • Avoid salt as it causes high blood pressure, memory loss and kidney diseases. To improve the flavor of your meal use black pepper, curry powder or garlic.
  • It is important to keep in mind that regular exercise also helps to keep your body maintained and stay fit.
  • Avoid smoking and drinking. If you are an addict, try to limit your alcohol consumption. Drink no more than one drink a day (Although a glass of wine once each couple weeks is good actually ! and it helps to warm you a bit in cold winters).

Sarah Jenkins Fitness Motivation

If you have a goal, a dream, and a passion, you will wake up everyday full of determination and energy to make this dream becomes a reality.

Being a fitness trainer or a fitness model is not an easy job, and behind that amazing fit look there are a lot of dedication …doing workouts everyday sticking with a strict diets and fighting the temptations for cheating is what get those amazing people their fit bodies and their flat abs and the sexy fit looks.

Here’s a short post shared by Sarah, a Fitness Model and a personal trainer who is now in Dubai.

life isn’t always easy. I’ve moved to Dubai and whilst I have been super lucky to be staying with two friends and all round awesome girls we are all working different hours and living totally different lives.

They had a party at the apartment last night then went out partying around midnight and got back a few hours later to party again. It’s their apartment, they are celebrating a new job and time off work so of course they will be partying but I’m up at 5 for PT.

So after having about 2 hours sleep I got up, cleaned the apartment, prepped my meals, made a BIG STRONG black coffee and headed to work. I should have taken a photo of the chocolate bars, crisps, biscuits etc all in the apartment and whilst it would have been easy to eat biscuits with my coffee I know that anything like that will take me further away from my #goal not closer to it. life isn’t always easy and I’m learning that there is no point getting stressed about things in Dubai as they happen when they happen.

My point is that even though I’m tired and it will be tough to work and train today I will be thinking of this quote in my head all day. ‘The BIGGER the DREAM the harder the grind!’ I want to earn my place on the WBFF stage and feel proud of the struggles I’ve over come to get there. If it was easy everyone would do it. It takes time, dedication and PASSION. Winners simply do things losers aren’t prepared to do. If you get up with that attitude day after day, work for it and live with passion your dreams will no longer be dreams but they will be your reality that you have worked hard for, earned and deserve.

Have a beautiful day. SJ x

Daily Healthy Tips for Fit and Healthy Body

Create Health Daily

Every day is a new opportunity to create health for the mind, body and spirit. Our bodies constantly renew and repair. Our red blood cells, for example, regenerate every 28 days and we get a new liver every 6 months. That’s why we need to include daily practices and take it one step at a time. Here are my first steps for better mind, body and spiritual health:

Body health – reduce the No. 1 killer – sugar and processed packaged foods – support your local farmers and switch to organic farming. It’s about time to start paying the farmer, not the doctor.

Mind health – practice being present and breathing for 5 min a day – give your mind a break and watch how your intuition gets stronger and you make better decisions.

Spirit health – start loving and accepting yourself the way you are. Often what we think of as wrong with us are only our expressions of our own individuality. Nature never repeats itself. We are meant to be different. There are people out there looking for exactly what you have to offer. Let them know you exist. Take care of yourself and life will do the same for you:).

Health and Atni-Aging Workouts

Regular exercise is the key to healthy muscles, bones, and body systems. Physical training plays an essential role in anti-aging stress-busting. people who exercise report better moods and more energy than those who don’t, and they suffer less insomnia and stress-related symptoms. And at this time of changing body shape, exercise bolsters self-confidence as you see muscles become toned, posture lift, stamina, flexibility, and range of motion increase.

Exercise also keeps the brain functioning in a youthful way, by boosting circulation and right-left brain coordination. Mentally challenging activities, from bridge to Sudoku, keep the memory sharp and build connections between brain cells that help keep your reasoning sharp.

By strengthening muscles and bones as the body ages, exercise sustains good posture, bone density, and joint mobility, which in turn keeps you active and able to
exercise—a positive spiral. And by boosting the efficiency of the cardiovascular system (heart and lungs), exercise helps every part of the body function efficiently.

So How often to exercise !?
Aim for at least 30 minutes of moderate physical activity most days of the week (at least five).  prevent weight gain, you might need to boost that time slot to 60 minutes. Two of those sessions should ncorporate weight training

Tip: Exercise outdoors, Amazing !:
It can be joyous to exercise outdoors—a boost for spirit as well as body. The  feel-good buzz after exercising in nature leaves you feeling exhilarated, yet grounded and calm. Whenever possible, find an excuse to walk a clifftop path, go jogging at dawn, swim in the ocean, or practice yoga in the yard (upwardfacing poses take on another dimension when you stare at the sky). Find a t’ai chi class that practices regularly in a park: gain courage from numbers.

Try to make it as Four-stage workout ! :
For an effective workout make sure your exercise sessions include four main elements: a gentle warm-up followed by aerobic or cardiovascular exercise to work the To heart and lungs, weight-bearing exercises to strengthen muscles and bones, and finally a cool down stretch and relaxation.

Being Active is going to help you lose weight, and not gaining anymore fat in your body & it is going to tone your muscles and keep you feeling young and active.

5 Tips to Make You Lose Weight Fast

Losing weight is way more than just doing a lot of Exercises and calorie counting. Although these things help, in reality it’s more complicated. If you’re feeling stuck in a weight-loss battle there are plenty of expert tips and industry secrets to help you on your way.

Whether you want to make your workouts work harder for you or find smarter ways of eating healthy, here under are 5 ways to cut down fat and lose weight faster and they should help you to get towards your goal.

1. Healthy hydration

Sounds obvious, we know ! but eating healthily means drinking healthily too. There’s no point eating the right foods if you don’t drink the right liquids.

From simply drinking fizzy drinks or fruit juices with extra sugars it’s estimated that people are drinking an extra 200 calories per day then they think they are. So keep the cans of fizz to a minimum.

2 Keep your diet varied

A lot of diets slip up in not providing enough variety. If you do something day in day out, you get bored of it and it won’t be as easy to stick to.

Diet Chef’s Nutritionist and Weight Management Specialist, Izzy Cameron says: “The problem many of us have with dieting is that it can become repetitive and boring, meaning after a few weeks of feeling we are depriving ourselves we revert back to old habits and may binge on the wrong foods.”

So if you’re trying to slim down make sure you’re still eating a balanced, varied diet. In the long run you will probably lose much more weight.

3. Keep moving

An active lifestyle is essential for heart health, arthritis and staving off diabetes as well as lots of other health issues. But trying to fit in the 10,000 steps recommended per day to keep blood sugar levels from spiking isn’t easy.

If you have a job where you’re mainly sat around (which a large number of us do) then it can be extremely difficult. But doing small things like walking for 5mins at least every 2 hours can help keep your metabolism ticking over.

? Izzy says: “Exercise can definitely help with and accelerate weight loss. However exercise does not mean signing up to expensive gym memberships or having to hire a personal trainer, so don’t panic. Just keeping active for at least 30 minutes a day can make a difference. Perhaps walk to work instead of getting the bus…get off the bus a stop earlier, take a stroll on your lunch break or go out for a bike ride or do some gardening at the weekend. All these little steps will help towards achieving your weight loss goals.”

4. Starving yourself won’t work

Losing weight 101. Skipping meals is nothing but bad news.

Nutritionist, Emma Wight-Boycott says: “Skipping meals is disastrous for weight loss! It has a three-pronged impact – firstly it causes blood sugar imbalance which makes us crave sugar or carbohydrates within 2 hours of our regular meal time. Secondly it makes our bodies burn muscle, not fat, for energy. Finally the body has its own ‘food clock’ (like a body clock for time) that regulates our metabolism and this becomes sleepy or sluggish when it is out of routine (think shift workers or jet lag).”

5. Eat regularly

As well as not skipping meals, you need to make sure you’re providing your body with the right amount of energy.

Emma says: “While its good to shake our body up with different intensities of exercise its best to keep our mealtimes regular. If you find skipping meals a tempting habit try having a combined protein and fat snack or small meal instead. Do this every 2-3hrs. Eat a boiled egg, a small handful of nuts or seeds, a protein drink or 100gm of meat or cheese. Add in certain vegetables and fruit and reduce carbohydrates especially refined ones; they are the weight loss enemy!”
